FAREWELL to LIONS JO & DON

We had a bit of a fun "roast" for Don Olson at our April 11th meeting.  Jo couldn't attend, however, they will be moving to the cities so we had some choice parting words for Don.  Some were good, some were good-natured roasting.  THEY WILL BE MISSED VERY MUCH and WE LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR VISITS THIS SUMMER!

MELVIN JONES AWARD

This most prestigious award was given to Lion Secretary Shirley Scollard by President Walt at our April 25th meeting.  Shirley was in Arizona when the other awards were given on Charter Night.  Shirley was very moved by the award and she is certainly most deserving of this award.

McGREGOR LIONS ELECTION

The Ballot - as published last month -was approved by election in April.  The new officers will be in effect on July 1st.

LION PRESIDENT FORD SHARES

At our April 11th meeting Walt shared information about his work in Alabama to assist with the oil clean up.  He was there for 3 weeks and supervised many different people, many of whom lacked motivation.  Progress is being made and BP is persisting with the clean up.

At our April 25th meeting Walt concluded the meeting with a slide show of his work in the Peace Corps in Honduras.  Lots of poverty there and their work included education about preserving the environment.

SUNSHINE CORNER

Please keep in prayers:  Lion Don Sjogren & his daughter, Lion Barb Johnson, Luke Sorenson (Lions Ellsa & Nort's grandson injured serving our country in Afghanistan).
